The road will come out of the trees and make a left turn followed by a sweeping right turn and then enter into a large open area. Jefferson Hill, a large rock outcrop, will be to your left. The road will widen out in this area. It is used as parking to unload ATVs or UTVs. As the open area narrows you will pass three camp sites on the left and one on the right.

The road will head through the aspen, following the creek. You will pass three camp sites on the right side of the road, and then pass a spur on the left, FR427A, that also goes to a camp site. You will head through a small open area and then pass a wide section in the road that has a rough side, followed by a camp site on the right. Just past this camp site, the Colorado Trail will cross the road. There will be two more camp sites on the right, and then the road will enter a heavier forested section. After about a quarter mile there will be a spur on the left to a camp site. The road will continue further into the pines and then end at a turn around.
