From Gunnison, CO head east on US Hwy 50 for 16.6 miles. Turn left on to Cnty Road 44/FR802.
Forest Road 802 starts out in conjunction with Gunnison County Road 44. After about 1.3 miles you will come to a Y in the road, stay to the right and continue to follow Wood Gulch. After another mile stay to the right at the next intersection. A left will take you on FR802.A over to Cnty Road 44.

You will see some interesting rock formations along the creek as you continue north on FR802. The left turn will continue on BLM lands and eventually loop back down to FR802. After about 3/4 of a mile from the fenceline you will come to another Y in the road. There is a nice camp site here in the trees.
