This would be a good area to base camp and explore McAllister Gulch, FR708, Wearyman Creek, FR747, and Pearl Creek, FR715.

From Minturn, CO. head southeast on Pine Street toward Norman Ave for 49 feet. Take the 1st left onto Norman Ave and go 279 feet. Take the 2nd right onto US-24 E/Main St and continue to follow US-24 E for 13.1 miles. Turn left onto Resolution Mountain Road and go 0.6 miles. Take a slight left onto Forest Road 702 and continue to follow it up the gulch. This is the Resolution Creek 4WD road.
From Leadville, CO. head north on Harrison Ave toward East 9th Street for 141 feet. Turn right onto East 9th Street and go 0.1 miles. Take the 1st left onto US-24 W/Poplar Street and go 1.0 miles. Turn left onto US-24 W and go 14.4 miles. Turn right onto 10th Mountain Div Memorial Hwy and go 381 feet. Take the 1st right onto Camp Hale Spur 1B and go 0.5 miles. Turn left onto Eagle River Road/Forest Road 714. Continue to follow Eagle River Road for 0.7 miles. Continue onto Forest Road 702 and continue to follow it up the gulch. This is the Resolution Creek 4WD road.

| Description: |
The Resolution Creek 4WD road is a graded road that leaves the north end of Camp Hale and climbs to the top of Ptarmigan Pass. The road follows Resolution creek for its entire length. After about a mile and a half you will pass the Pearl Creek, FR715, intersection. Stay to the left to stay on Resolution Creek 4WD road.

Heading up Resolution Creek

A mile past the Pearl Creek intersection there is a dipsersed campsite down by the creek. After another mile there is a second dispersed site by the creek.
A half mile past the last campsite is the intersection with Ptarmigan, FR751, to the left. Ptarmigan is a short two mile road that dead ends. Continue to the right to stay on Resolution Creek. After four and a half miles you will top out on Ptarmigan Pass which is a flat saddle between Ptarmigan Hill and Elk Mountain.
